FAQs
How to enjoy our chocolate
Each of our individual chocolates is freshly hand crafted using only premium ingredients and contains NO ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES OR FLAVOURING, so has a limited shelf life.
Consume soon after purchase and within the recommended BEST BEFORE date. The fresher the better!
To ensure our chocolate is consumed at its best, we suggest you store products in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight or odour-producing items. This ensures your chocolate maintains its natural flavours and is enjoyed as we intended. If you keep it in the fridge it is best kept in an airtight container to ensure moisture does not get to the chocolate, ensure you take out 30 minutes before consumption to bring to room temperature.
Allergies
Here at Honest Chocolat all our chocolates are gluten free and soy free. The majority of our products are dairy free, including our water ganache bonbons and caramels. Only our milk chocolates contain dairy. We also have a range of products that are sugar free.
A few of our products do contain nuts, but you will also find suitable alternatives within our range. PLEASE NOTE: All of our products at Honest Chocolat are made in a kitchen which produces items with nuts. If you are severely allergic then we cannot guarantee that there are not traces of it in our chocolate.

What is water ganache?
Traditionally a ganache is made of varying ratios of chocolate and cream. It is French in origin (of course!) and is very versatile in its uses. It can be made thick for filling truffles or thin to act as a glaze for cakes. Here at Honest Chocolat we approach ganaches differently and simply use water instead of cream. Many people think chocolate and water don’t mix but if the right techniques are used then the same indulgent, velvety texture can be achieved without any of the dairy.
With a water ganache the quality of the chocolate is no longer masked by the fat of the cream, so it cannot hide. We select great tasting chocolate with fine aromatic flavours that are brought to the fore by turning it into our ganache. The flavour is bright and clean, rich and decadent.
Added benefits are that our water ganache bonbons are vegan, gluten free and have less calories compared to a traditional ganache. We work with local suppliers of fruits, herbs and spices to come up with exciting flavours and hand decorate them to make them look as good as they taste.
